In a 2014 Sailnet posting you mentioned removing your steering quadrant. I'm facing a similar problem with our Catalina 27 Edson radial drive wheel (quadrant).
The quadrant bore is worn, so need to remove the quadrant for service. The stainless bolt/screws which secure the two halves of the quadrant are firmly corroded to the aluminum. In your case, how did you break them free? I've tried PB, but not yet heat.
